The use of children in carpet weaving has diminished drastically since last couple of years. However, there are other burning issues like minimum wages and health care facilities for workers, sanitation and environment of workplaces. Thus, apart from illegal child labour, RUGMARK has initiated to monitor these dimensions as well with an aim of improving these conditions by making all the stakeholders aware of these issues and gradually incorporating them into RUGMARK criteria.
